This week in school we have been raiseing money for a penny drive contest through a local radio station. The school that raises the most money wins a concert from the band “Boys Like Girls”. Our school is in the lead so two DJs from the station came to our school. That day we set our goal to be $800 raised. At the end of the day we ended up with $1800 and that was just the one day total. That is a great thing but it is also sad. Many of the people that brought in money only did it to win the concert. If there wasn’t a prize I can guarantee that we wouldn’t have raised nearly that much money. I realize that the radio station realizes that and that is why they offer the concert as a prize. It would be great if the people weren’t so selfish and gave money regardless of the prize but they’re not. It is good that they’re giving money to charity but for most peopleĀ it is with the wrong heart.

that is sad. it’s how the world works. nothing is to be given unless something is gained in return. it’s so selfish!!!
