A Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Part 2)

“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor… Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”
-Mother Theresa

We are told several times in the Bible to love one another. In John 15:12 Jesus says,”My command is this, love each other as I have loved you.” That is actually hard to do because Jesus showed us the greatest act of love by dying for us on the cross. Also we are told to love everyone with that kind of love. It doesn’t say pick a few people to love like I loved you because God wants us to love every person.

There are many different ways to express love to different people. We show God that we love him by following him and living for him. We show our family members that we love them by spending quality time with them. But how are we suppose to love the person that we just meet? One thing that we should do is respect them. Respect is a big deal, it is a great gift to give someone and it will show them that you love them. We don’t have to do much more then that respect is a great thing to give. We also should love them even if they don’t give us respect back because that is what Jesus told us to do. If you continue to give respect you will probably end up getting it back.

Jesus tells us to love our neighbors. There are many different types of love but for many different people but we should give love to everybody. We are told to love one another like Jesus loved us. That is very hard to do but we should at least try to give everyone love because of the love that he has for us. We aren’t supposed to love some people and hate others. In 1 John 4:20 Jesus tells us,”If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.” Whch means that we need to love the people on earth because we have seen them but if we don’t love them then we can’t love God because we haven’t seen him. This doesn’t mean we have to go around hugging people and telling them,”I love you” but it does mean that we should respect them amd care about their well being.

Christian love is a great kind of love because we can give it to anybody. You don’t have to be great friends with a person to give them this love. You can give it to them the first time that you meet and it can grow from there. We should tell the people that we know about Jesus because then they can expirience God’s love and they can give christian love.
